As I began reading Divine Disruption， I could easily picture myself sitting down at the table and talking to the Evans family。 Their lives， filled with much loss， grief， and disruptions over the past few years， mirrored the road that my family is walking right now as well。 Each member of the Evans family so graciously and humbly shared their hearts， giving us a view of their highs and lows during a very trying time in the life of their family。 Dr。 Evans encourages the reader to look at the trial As I began reading Divine Disruption， I could easily picture myself sitting down at the table and talking to the Evans family。 Their lives， filled with much loss， grief， and disruptions over the past few years， mirrored the road that my family is walking right now as well。 Each member of the Evans family so graciously and humbly shared their hearts， giving us a view of their highs and lows during a very trying time in the life of their family。 Dr。 Evans encourages the reader to look at the trials and test in this life as a "divine disruption，" a time God can use to change our hearts and the trajectory of our lives going forward， making the conscious choice to view these disruptions through the lens of an eternal perspective。 Having gone through the sickness and loss of my father in what was already a unprecedented year （2020）， I too， have tried to look at things from an eternal perspective， searching for what God wanted to teach me through all the " divine disruptions" that kept coming。 The following quote from Dr。 Evans rings so true as I move forward after losing my father: "Sometimes God allows discomfort and distress because He wants us to move closer to Him。 We don't cling to God nearly as much in the carefree times， when things are smooth。 We run to God when things are frightening or tough。" What if we looked at hard times as "divine disruptions" instead of taking them at face value？ If you're struggling with finding meaning in the trials and tests that come along in life， then I encourage you to read "Divine Disruption。" As you do， I think you'll be motivated to look at the things of this world from an eternal perspective！ 。。。more

This book is one of the most honest I have ever read。 From the opening pages， I could feel the emotions of the family。 I love the conversational flow。 You see the real Evans family- their struggles and their pain。 However， through it all you see their faith and you are reminded that God is always present。 This book is a wonderful reminder that even when life breaks your heart， God is always good。

This was such a blessing to read。 Real people experiencing real grief and not sugarcoating it， but inviting us in as they share how they worked through it。 Dr。 Evans’ wrote that our feeling are the caboose when we are in a relationship with Christ and I completely agree。 I lost my mom in 2010 and my sister in 2020 and I am so grateful for their words pointing us to God。
